Race regulations

The information below has been prepared from the official regulations of the previous edition and adapted to the Braga Half Marathon scheduled for 28 March 2027.

Rules, registration deadlines, fees and other organisational details may be updated when the official 2027 regulations are published.

Bib collection

Participant kits must be collected at the designated collection area near the start and finish zone.

Bibs will not be distributed outside the official collection periods.

What you need

The confirmation document showing your assigned race number.

Official identification such as an identity card, citizen card or driving licence.

Participation Rules

Essential regulations

Select each section to read the main conditions applicable to participants.

Participants must complete the entire official route corresponding to the event for which they are registered.

Anyone who shortens or fails to complete the designated course may be disqualified.

Refreshment stations are planned from kilometre 5 and approximately every five kilometres, in accordance with applicable athletics rules.

Additional stations may be provided depending on weather conditions.

The Half Marathon and Super 5K use electronic timing.

The timing chip supplied to each participant is personal and non-transferable and must be worn according to the organiser's instructions.

The 6K Walk is non-competitive and has no official classification.

The Super 5K has general individual classifications for men and women.

The Half Marathon includes general male and female classifications and age categories including M35 through M60 and F35 through F60.

Electronic race diplomas are expected to be available for finishers of the Half Marathon and Super 5K.

For safety reasons, participation with bicycles, skates or skateboards is not permitted. Participants may not take part accompanied by animals.

Only officially authorised organisation and police vehicles may accompany the races.

Medical assistance will be available at the start, along the course and at the finish.

Participants are covered by the compulsory sports insurance arranged by the organiser in accordance with Portuguese legislation.

In the event of an incident, participants should first contact the event medical team so the appropriate insurance procedure can be initiated.

A bag-drop service is planned for Half Marathon participants near the finish area.

Bags must be identified with the participant's race number. Loose objects cannot be deposited.

The organiser does not accept responsibility for loss of personal belongings.

The technical finish area is reserved exclusively for registered participants who have completed their event.

Family members and accompanying persons are not permitted inside this restricted participant area.

Participants may be disqualified for failing to pass the start control, failing to complete the entire course, improperly wearing or transferring a bib, falsifying registration information, receiving unauthorised assistance, using transport or failing to follow instructions from race officials.

Participants may be selected for anti-doping control in accordance with the applicable sporting regulations.

Personal information supplied during registration is used for the normal administration of the event, including participant insurance, start lists and results.

By registering, participants also authorise the use of images recorded during the event for event communication purposes, subject to the applicable rules.

The official 2027 deadlines and administrative conditions for cancellation, transfer of registration to another participant and changing race distance will be published once confirmed by the organiser.

Under the previous edition's rules, these requests were subject to specific deadlines and administrative conditions.

The event may be cancelled, changed or postponed because of circumstances beyond the organiser's control, including public safety requirements, authority decisions, severe disruption, force majeure or other circumstances preventing the event from being held safely.
